Clericus May 9th - 11th (limited space)

Only 4 spots remain - Lakeside lodge retreat in the lakes region of NH. A Clericus "unplugged" is to have a relaxed, less formal retreat for clergy, with a little less structure and more time for relationship building, and group discussions rather than lecture format. A time to refresh and renew.

About the Event

SOLD OUT as of 4/21/22 - next scheduled event is in October 2022 - TBD

This Clericus will be held at Camp Marist, a Catholic retreat center, located at 22 Abel Blvd., Effingham, New Hampshire.  It is off of NH-25, about halfway between the intersection with NH-16 and the New Hampshire-Maine state line.  The facility is part of a 250-acre summer camp and retreat center on Leavitt Bay, near Lake Ossipee.  A chapel is on the campus as well.

Our group will be staying at the Lodge, which is a two-story building similar to Denis Hall at the Notre Dame Center in Alfred, Maine.  The Lodge had twelve bedrooms, and can accommodate up to 24 people, with most rooms having two single beds; one room has a bunk bed.  Two rooms and a shared bathroom are on the first floor, the remaining rooms and three shared baths are on the second floor.

The first floor also has a fully-equipped kitchen - we will be preparing our own meals! - and dining area; also a living room with fireplace.  The second floor also has a sitting area / reading room.  We hope that the weather will cooperate, so that a fair amount of our time there can be spent outdoors!

WHEN TO ARRIVE:  Monday, May 9, between 4:00 and 5:30 PM.  We will plan on having supper around 6:00.  Departure on Wednesday, May 11, after breakfast, time for feedback, and Mass.

MEALS:  We won't exactly be on "island time", but in addition to Monday's supper time, Tuesday's breakfast, lunch, and supper will be around 8 AM, 12 noon or so, and 6-ish, respectively.  Wednesday breakfast around 8 AM.  More details about meal plans will be sent out closer to the time; and the expectation is that everyone will, at some point, have opportunity to prepare, serve, and - especially - clean up.  Hopefully again, the weather will allow us to have a cookout at some point!

Please be sure to inform me at your earliest opportunity if you have any food allergies or restrictions - gluten-free, diabetic, no salt, etc.

DRESS:  Read "Unplugged" as "Casual" - clericals will not be required.  I would recommend, however, that each person bring cassock, surplice, and white stole, in the event you are called upon to have a part in Mass.  A service schedule and Rota will be determined later.  Bring your own BCP and Bible as well.

COST:  $125.00 per person; this will cover for the two nights at the Lodge, and food purchases.

Please send your payment at your earliest opportunity to me, at P.O. Box 992, Deep River, CT  06417.  Thank you!

Currently, twelve people have indicated that they plan to be there, so there is room for up to twelve more.  But don't wait!  Please let me know at your earliest opportunity if you plan to attend.

May we each have a blessed and meaningful Holy Week and Eastertide.  Your servant in Christ,

Canon Merrill Perkins - prkns.mrrll@yahoo.com
